Precious people,
I hope you’re keeping healthy and topping up vitamin D reserves while you’re out and about enjoying summer’s burst of colour and heat. I plan for winter at this time of year – lining up my diary with events and activities that will warm my heart, if nothing else, when its grey and cold!
So far, 2018 has claimed the lives of two of my dear friends, an old colleague and an uncle. Boom. Four people gone. Life is fleeting. Death as an advisor means I make conscious choices around people and situations in my life – choosing what will add happiness not deplete it.
Happiness is a state that you have to plan for rather than waiting for the sun to shine, or the dream job/home/partner to land in your lap. If you wait for happiness to come at you, then you leave yourself open to being buffeted all over the place by external forces. Winter will soon be here…while you’re chiling in this heat, take a leisurely look at courses, events, concerts, walks, trips to keep you going over winter. Your winter self will thank you.
Day Retreats Coming Soon!
Well, since the last newsletter many of you got in touch suggesting a longer retreat day rather than mini-retreats…so that is what I’m now offering – time to really unwind in good company and sumptuous surrounds, enjoying wholesome food, mindfulness, deep relaxation and time to ponder and set intentions that you can keep.
The Mindful Moon retreat days take place in November 2018 and February, 2019.
The Happy Brain – New Mindfulness Course
Okay, finally, I can now confirm that I will begin teaching a new MBSR course in March, 2019! The eight week course will take place in Southampton.
If you’re prone to rushing around in doing mode with little time to stop and take notice of your child’s soft hair, the smell of the coffee you’ve just downed in a few gulps, the lush scenery you drove past while your mind was absorbed with something or other, then mindfulness can help you notice the good already in your life. It helps the brain re-wire itself for happiness.
Until the next time.
Warm regards for radiant health and happiness,
Yasmin x
