Supervision & Mentoring

What is supervision and mentoring?

Supervision in the mindfulness-based model can provide both mindfulness and yoga teachers with a useful opportunity to review and reflect upon teaching and personal practice. In the mindfulness tradition, the supervision space is imbued with compassion and mindful presence to support the supervisee in exploring not only the practical elements of teaching but also personal practice, bringing a kind and insightful awareness to how this impacts your everyday life.

The sessions may include opportunities to share your teaching live, or through previously arranged video session review, with your supervisor for feedback. There will be inquiry about your teaching, or discussion about your personal practice as well as short periods of meditation, where appropriate.

My Background & Training

I trained as a supervisor at Bangor University’s Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice in 2015. Since then I’ve been providing supervision for mindfulness teachers and yoga teachers either in person, by phone or via Skype and similar networks at mutually agreed times.

As a mindfulness teacher and supervisor I undertake regular supervision from an experienced supervisor and adhere to the Good Practice Guidelines for supervisors.
I am accredited by the UK Network for Mindfulness Teacher Trainer Organisations and CNHC as a therapeutic yoga practitioner having worked a few decades with people presenting with various physical and mental health conditions.
