“In 2011-12 I started attending Yasmin’s yoga class at Warsash Maritime Academy. I was a complete novice to yoga but Yasmin was very supportive and has helped me progress. She is thorough in her explanations and demonstrations and takes account the physical constraints of her pupils, who in the case of WMA are mainly ‘more mature ladies’. I am benefitting from these yoga classes both in terms of feeling more alert at work and also my flexibility has improved greatly, which helps all aspects of life and particularly horse riding. I therefore make every effort to ensure I am free of work commitments to attend her weekly class.”

I found Yasmin’s classes compelling and her method both precise and inspiring. She has a wonderful way to explain complex things in a simple and appealing manner. She makes things fun and fresh for you and is always inviting you to grow personally and to challenge yourself. She helped me in my personal practise during my stay in the UK. There was always so much to learn and she was constantly keen to share her understanding of the depths of each asana with us all.
I think Yasmin’s classes are wonderful. She offers balanced, sensible, brilliant sequences and is absolutely clear in her instructions. She has a magnificent way to allow you to connect with your own mind and body, to become aware of your being. She is always inviting you to be fully present or, as she used to tell us, to “be true to yourself”.
Yasmin’s bighearted personality encouraged me to a career change. She believed I could become a good teacher myself. It was thanks to her kind words that today I run my own studio in Argentina where I teach Pilates and Esferodinamia (physioball exercises to help with good posture). Yasmin most certainly has an inspiring way to make of yoga an embodied experience.

I first started to going to her yoga classes at Fitness First, Southampton in 2004. Straight away, I found her classes very beneficial and enjoyable. I always attended when I could. PreviouIsly, I had attended Astanga and Iyengar classes, so had experienced a variety of yoga, but I enjoyed her Sivananda classes.
I always come out of the classes with a good feeling, both physically and mentally. I do a lot of competitive sport (hockey, tennis and golf) and find that Yasmin’s classes are excellent preparation in terms of flexibility and suppleness. However, they also help in terms of maintaining a balanced mind. I have a stressful job as a solicitor and her classes help in terms of managing stress levels.
Her teaching methods are first class. She communicates well and demonstrates the moves in a clear manner. The contents of her classes are excellent. Whilst she is keen to ensure that one pushes oneself to achieve flexibility and suppleness, she will never push anyone too far. She appears to know the capabilities of all of her students, demonstrating that she pays good attention to those participating.
I particularly enjoy the masterclasses she runs on occasions on a Saturday morning, normally for 2 hours plus. I will very often make the journey from my home in Portsmouth to get to these classes in Southampton, which is an effort, but a worthwhile one.
I really cannot speak highly enough of Yasmin. I have been doing Yoga of one sort or another since 1999 and have experienced many Yoga teachers. Yasmin is right up there with the best.
